Overview
In this
article you will learn how to replace the battery in a wireless push to
operate button. The button will normally illuminate green as you
activate the button. If the battery is weak, this green light will
instead be red, indicating the battery needs to be replaced soon. The
expected battery life in these buttons is around 2 years.

The battery used in the button is a lithium 3.6v AA battery. A regular 1.5v AA battery will not work as a replacement. The acceptable battery part numbers are provided below.
What You Need
- A new lithium 3.6v AA battery
- ER14505
- ER14505H
- LS14500
- A small flat-head screwdriver or narrow wedging tool
Procedure
There
is a small opening on the right side of the button near the bottom.
Insert the flat head screwdriver or wedging tool into this opening and
push it straight in until the cover comes off.
The button is held in place with 4 clips, 1 on each edge. Pull these clips back and the button will pop out.
Replace the Battery
Remove
the original battery and replace it with an equivalent lithium 3.6v AA
battery. The button should now illuminate green as you activate it,
indicating good battery strength.
Push
the button back into its clips, making sure all 4 sides clip into
place. Put the cover back on and firmly press it down, making sure both
the left and right side clip into place.
