How to Pair a Basic Wireless Keypad to the Receiver
Overview
In this
article you will learn how to pair a basic wireless keypad to the radio
receiver. The radio receiver is located inside the opener's cabinet. The
keypad's code will be entered on the keypad at the same time as a
button on the radio receiver is pressed. This requires dismounting the
keypad or having a second person to enter the code into the keypad where
it's mounted. An example of this process will be provided at the end of
the article.

You will only need to do this for one code. Once the keypad has been learned by the receiver, all access codes will function.
What You Need
- A small Phillips head screwdriver to remove the keypad
- A second person can be used in place of removing the keypad
- A long and narrow tool of some sort (paperclip, tooth pick, etc..)
Procedure
Enter the Access Code and Hold Down the Last Digit
The
light at the top of the keypad will flash the entire time you hold down
the last digit. Continue holding the last digit and proceed to the next
step.

Use P1 if the desired behavior is to open and/or close the gate.
Use P2 if the desired behavior is to latch the gate open.
Make
sure the last digit of the code is being held while doing this step.
Once the green LED on the receiver turns on, the receiver should 'click'
and the gate should operate, indicating a successful pair. Let go of
both buttons at this time. Enter the access code on the keypad to
confirm it makes the gate operate.
Example
The code used in this example is "1234#".

After
each key press you must move quickly to the next. If you wait too long
before the next key press, the keypad will exit programming mode and you
will need to start over. We recommend writing down the example below
using your own values before beginning the process. This will help you
do the process quickly, ensuring the keypad doesn't time out and exit
programming.
- Enter the access code and hold down the last digit
- 1234, hold down #
- Keypad light will flash
- While # is being held (last digit), press and hold P1 on the radio receiver
- Hold down P1
- The gate should operate
- Let go of both buttons
- The keypad is now paired to the gate. Type the code in to confirm it makes the gate operate.
