How to Change the Security Code on a Premium Metal Wireless Keypad

Overview

In this article you will learn how to change the security code on a premium wireless keypad. This is done to make the keypad send a unique signal when there are multiple keypads in the same area. Changing the security code can solve issues where your gate is opening from someone else's keypad or your keypad is opening someone else's gate. The keypad has nine 3-position 'virtual switches' that make up the security code. The numbers 1-9 represent the switches and "#", "0", and "*" represent the switch positions. A chart and example will be provided to help visualize this process.

Procedure

Determine a New Security Code

The following chart visualizes how the security code is made. Each switch number will be assigned a dip switch position. Note down the security code you want making sure that you aren't selecting the same position for every switch.

Example Security Code

The following chart shows an example security code.

Enter the Master Password and then Press 6

The default master password is "11111". The keypad will give 2 short beeps if this step is done correctly. If you get one long beep at this step, your master password may be incorrect.
To reset the master password back to the default, refer to this article: How to Reset the Master Password Back to Default on a Basic Wireless Keypad

Enter Each Switch Number Followed by the Desired Position

The keypad will give 2 short beeps every time you select the switch and then it's position. Do this for each switch number. Continue to the next step after entering 9 and then its position.

Enter "#" and Then 6

The keypad will give 2 short beeps indicating the security code has been changed.

Example

The new security code in this example will follow the filled-in chart above. The default master password is used.
After each key press you must move quickly to the next. If you wait too long before the next key press, the keypad will exit programming mode and you will need to start over. We recommend writing down the example below using your own values before beginning the process. This will help you do the process quickly, ensuring the keypad doesn't time out and exit programming.
